There are many intensely stupid things in the movie. The main concern was whether or not it took itself seriously enough; Brendan Fraser has a lot of lines that were supposed to be funny. They weren't, but still.....

They're running in fear from CGI mummy Pygmies. I think they take it seriously enough. Cinester Theater has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that you can riff comedies. And if you don't comment on the jokes themselves.
