The new QuipTrack is about 3/4 written. Hopefully we'll have it out by the end of the month. We've had terrible writing days and extremely productive ones, seemingly at random, so it's hard to tell. At this point, we're planning on having Matt Doyle aboard as our third riffer. He's given us a slew of great lines in the past and did a fantastic job as Stephen Sommers in the Van Helsing outro.

A school project of Tristan's (AGAIN) has delayed progress, but he only has another day before he has to give up and turn it in, so we'll get back on track here soon.

Good to hear!

Droool...that would a great riff.

Whatever it is, I know the Quiptracks will be great. I just hope the movie has more stuff happening in it a la Van Helsing or Godzilla, than Gattacca, which was a very tedious movie. Don't get me wrong, Gattacca was hilarious ("I've matured since childhood! No, I've matured since childhood!"), but the movie still bogged it down.

EDIT: Yes, I know that is ironic coming from the guy who made you riff HULK

Don't worry. This movie does not drag.

And what we recorded the other night was great. Matt is doing a fantastic job.

Slow progress. Sorry, folks. Matt's not available to finish this thing until next weekend, but there's no reason it shouldn't be ready for release very soon after that.

Yeah, I hate it when my lengthy monologues get all wrinkly.

Iron? Is that a clue? Jinkies!

Maybe, Man in the Iron Mask?

Iron Giant?

The new track is nearing completion, so it's time to hold the traditional Teaser contest. We will post a short clip from the movie on our blog at 5PM central, tomorrow (19th). Guess the movie, and you'll get it for free. The rules are simple:

• The movie will have been referenced in the last QuipTrack (GATTACA, in this case)
• I will post a line from the movie (with our joke about it)
• You may submit only one guess per teaser, but
• Every day, if the movie has not been guessed, we will post another teaser (they will be added to the end of the post and a comment about the addition will be made)
• You may ask any questions about the teasers which will be answered at our discretion in a “yes or no” fashion. (e.g., “Was that Gary Sinse’s voice in that clip?”)
• And of course you can discuss amongst yourselves as much as you like
• The first to correctly guess the movie we are riffing will receive a gift certificate for the amount of the track
• If you somehow know the answer through leaked information of some kind, please do not participate

The contest is now over, with David correctly guessing Dragonball Evolution.

awesome. i remember i tried watching this film for james marsters and chow yun fat, and i was like ... i dunno. i felt they were RIGHT ON THE CUSP of making it good. like some of the stuff, like when .... uhhh ... protagonist guy does his little upside down dance on the car at the party, i was like, 'that was almost wacky and fun, but ... not quite.' overall tho it was just boring & i shut it off about 40 mins in, thinking, 'either i or someone else will one day riff this & then i'll watch it.' very much looking forward to this one.
